It's been a long time since I have blogged but I have very good reasons.Last week I was away with the family. We rented a cottage for a week and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
We were able to swim in the lake every day and multiple times a day. We also played tennis and badminton a lot. I also invented a new game with my parents and my sister. Badminton Bootcamp!
Here's how you play: Each player must always be shuffling their feet, Tae Bo Style. If you miss the birdie you must stop and either do 3 push-ups, 3 squats or 3 jumping jacks (alternating between the three). Oh it was so much fun! We couldn't stop laughing and sweated so much that we had to jump in the lake when we were done. hahaha
I enjoyed being roomies with my sister again. Since I have moved out on my own I haven't seen as much of my sister as I used to. So it was a lot of fun swimming, and playing games with her.
I was really nervous about doing beach runs because of my calf. I didn't run the entire week leading up to going away. So I took it easy the first time and was really surprised that my calves no longer hurt when I ran. I did 20 minutes only the first time just to be on the safe side.
The next time I ran I was able to do a complete 30 minute run. I was so happy.
I am now back to my usual running routine and very happy about this. Yesterday I did hill intervals. I felt so powerful sprinting up the hill.
Last night I did a brand new weight routine from Oxygen magazine. It was great. I ended it with the bonus butt blaster...7 sets of squats! You start with a standard squat and move your feet out 2 inches with each set until you are in a plie squat for the last set. It was great! I can't wait to do it again tomorrow!
I let myself sleep in today. It's is my 4 mile run day and when I woke up it was raining. So I decided to wait until this afternoon. And good thing. It's all sunny now! Woo hoo!
